Don't Say Bollywood - LOL at Yaari Yaari from Purani Jeans

So the trailer for the first song from Purani Jeans has been released and I couldn't stop myself from shaking my head and laughing out loud. Did they seriously think male bonding can be depicted by gathering in a circle listening to one play a guitar and then running in fields like little girls? Or having the token fat friend eating out of a can would be a good depiction of his obvious nature? How about that flower huddle? For a small film, I had hopes for Purani Jeans but they have definitely taken a bad first step. #yaariyaari #puranijeans

Don't Say Bollywood - Sonakshi Sinha, the new Mother

No, Sonakshi didn't have a child but what is up with her wearing the same clothes in every music video? I respect her wanting to carry the family brand to her films and image but please hire a new designer that can give you different clothes because you're starting to look like Mother Teresa. I wasn't sure if I was looking at a still from Bismillah from OUATIMD, Har Kisi Ko from Boss or TGIF from Himmatwala. #sonakshisinha #holiday #sonakshiisamom

Don't Say Bollywood - The Success of Ragini MMS 2

Last week, Ragini MMS 2 featuring Sunny Leone released and was met with widespread commercial success. I'm confused as whether people came to see the film for its content, Sunny, or the music. Sunny and the music were major draws for the movie's opening success but it's sustenance later in the week shows that either there was some substance to the film or just many craved men who wanted a glimpse of Sunny with a storyline in the background. Definitely, a bang for their buck. Anyways, good job Balaji on knowing your audience and delivery a package which quenches their thirst. #hyperbole #raginimms2 #sunnyleone #balaji #sex #horror

Don't Say Bollywood - Sonu Nigam was right about Tu Sab Kuch Re

The song promo for Tu Sab Kuch Re from Kaanchi was recently released and I gotta say, Sonu Nigam has done an awesome job. Despite the melody being a bit dated, he was right in claiming we don't have songs like these anymore. The picturization is okay, again dated but what is going on with Mishti swinging her shawl and running in the fields?? Anyways, it is a good song and only one of the two songs from the film that I still have in my playlist a week after the music was released. #sonunigam #kaanchi #mishti

Don't Say Bollywood - I'm Back with a Discovery

Well after months of not posting anything, I'm back! Similarly, Subash Ghai is back with a discovery called Mishti.

Seriously, did he find her in the early 90s and only get a chance to make a film recently? Also, did he buy all the songs Ismail Darbar and Salim-Sulaiman had out of pity since they aren't getting work? Subash, you should've discovered that if you want to do a retro styled film, you need to atleast have quality production values, a convincing star cast, and creative yet melodious music. You should discover yourself and passion for films Mr. Ghai, instead of looking for an easy way to stay relevant and make money. #rediscoveryourself #kaanchi #kaanchithedisaster #subashghai #mishti #salimsulaiman #ismaildarbar
