The guitar strums in the beginning of 'Body Guard' are extremely catchy but then the instruments and singing that follows are played in a reminiscent fashion of 'Dhinka Chika' from "Ready". Nonetheless the song is actually better than 'Dhinka Chika' because it has much more layers of instrumentation which makes it interesting to listen to the different instruments in harmony with each other.
'I Love You' is a beautiful song! The harmonica piece that is heard in the beginning is really infectious. Ash King and Clinton Cerejo has done a marvelous job and Pritam's composition is probably the best Pritam song of the year so far! The chorus portions are hummable and once again the harmonica portions gets your heart running.
'Desi Beats' starts off like a disco Punjabi number and somehow has a faint rhythm of a 90's Salman Khan film in the beginning, maybe "Hum Aapke Hain Kaun". Mika's singing energetic I would've still preferred hearing Himesh's voice again on this song however Mika really controls this pumping dance song very well.
'Teri Meri' is probably the most hyped love song of the year. Since the news released that Himesh is doing the music of "Bodyguard" this song has been in the news. The song starts slow and soft with nice violin and bagpipe orchestration in the background. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal have both done a good job but it does not meet or exceed the type of singing they've done in 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' from "Dabangg". I think the song has been over-hyped because the orchestration seems somewhat basic compared to other great love songs of our times like 'Bol Na Halke Halke', 'Humko Pyaar Hua' or 'Tu Jaane Na'.
Overall, the album has 3 good songs by Himesh Reshammiya and one outstanding Pritam song! Welcome back Himesh!
